Ok so... I had to include a photo of the Women Only car sign. During rush hour women are allotted their own subway car so as to relieve them from any wandering hands when people are packed on the trains like sardines!!!

The Subway
The Oedo Subway Line (nearest our apt. in Azabu Juban) is roughly 5 stories underground! Justin and I refer to using the Oedo line as descending into the belly of the whale.

Ptarmi is showing me how to read one of the subway information signs (this was fantastic new information--ya, I have lived here and used the subway for one year now--which is why I look so shocked). Ptarmi is pretty much the subway guru.
Ptarmi and I are doing the typical Mickey Mouse or Peace photo that the Japanese allllllll do...
Tracey thought it would be soooooo dramatic to capture a picture of me waiting for the train...
I love this shot of Tracey and Jonas (Hollis' little buddy) because they are wearing color, totally contrasting the ever in black and brown Japanese population.
Notice the lady at Tracey's side--the Japanese people either pretend to nap or actually doze off on the subway. This amazes me because they always seem to know when to wake up and hop off--that is, they don't look shocked and frazzled when they wake. You will never see a Japanese person rushing to the door and jumping off the train at the next stop in frustration that they have missed their stop by a long shot. I am writing all this because I just know that if I dozed off I would find myself in some far off city and get "wiggy" in frustration.
